On the 13th of August 2024, we launched our 16th Solar-Energy-Hub in Western Kenya with financial support from our Shareholder Siemens Stiftung. Muhuru Bay Hub joins Sori Hub as our second hub in Migori County.

Our trademark business verticals in this hub include provision of potable water via our WeWater ATM’s, renewable energy solutions through our fishing lanterns and electric mobility.

Beyond our Water-Energy-Hub, Muhuru Bay site hosts the SolCoolDry II Project including a solar ice flakes production machine and a solar dryer for food preservation aimed at increasing their shelf life and to provide affordable fish storage solutions for fisherfolk in Muhuru Bay.

The SolCoolDry II project was implemented by a consortium of local and international experts including WeTu, Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE, KIRDI, KEMFRI, Innotek and Technical University of Mombasa (TUM). Formal launch was officiated by Mr. Christian Friedman – a representative from the German Embassy.

We continue to leverage our goal to provide Better solutions and Better lives by deploying productive use of renewable energy and safe drinking water in all our hubs.
